Welcome From The Manager

Hi. My name is Lizzy. I am very proud to be the Manager of our setting in Idle. Since opening in 2020, we have grown considerably and we are now a thriving, busy nursery; full of laughter, smiles and fun. I’d love you to come and visit us and find out for yourself what makes us so special.

About Little Wellies Idle

Little Wellies Idle is set in a beautiful stone, detached building, close to the village centre. Children have access to a wealth of resources, a vast amount of outside space and a wonderful, interactive “sensory cabin”, which is used by all ages. The highly-qualified and experienced staff team teach the children through “child-led,” “in the moment” learning, through a wide range of play activities. We ensure that children are captivated and engrossed in their learning with beautiful, authentic and ‘real’ resources. After all, why use a plastic “play” tea set when a real ceramic one is much more enticing?

Our Idle nursery is split into three beautiful, age-appropriate rooms. Raindrops is for our youngest children and is based in a bright, warm conservatory area on the ground floor of the building. The emphasis is on nurturing the children in a cosy, comfortable and engaging environment and providing rich early play experiences for them. Rainbows is next door and is our toddler room. In here, children are given more space to explore and discover with wonderful resources, such as a built in indoor sandpit. However, there is still plenty of opportunities for them to curl up for some quiet time with their favourite practitioner.

After turning 3 our children move upstairs to our huge, bright and airy first floor room, “Sunbeams.” You will not find many manufactured “toys” here, but you will find a wealth of play and learning opportunities for every child, from a home-made “Playdough Station” to a junk model sculpture area. The children are engaged through meaningful, creative play experiences, using authentic resources and begin to learn what it means to be “ready for school.”
